Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.Michael Pollan
Hi, I’m Stephanie!
If you’ve landed here, you must have some interest in living a healthier life through what you eat. Guess what – me too! We already have something in common!
I live and work in the small town of Alden, NY, just east of Buffalo. My friends think I live and breathe Alden, and they’re probably right… Local events are my jam. I taught in our local elementary schools for the better part of the last decade, am active in a local church, and have been known to spew facts about our local history in social settings.
In the spring of 2019, I purchased a “century building” in the Village of Alden with the intention of starting a Wellness Center (now Wellness in the Village, LLC) that would not just support the business of our town, but would help my community to be healthier and happier. That’s always been my passion. I want people to become the best versions of themselves. And I want to help them get there!
Since completing my certification in Holistic Nutrition through AFPA (American Fitness Practitioners and Associates) last summer, I’ve become more obsessed than ever with sharing #myplantbasedlife with those around me and on social media. You can usually find me (coffee in hand) experimenting in my kitchen with whole food, plant-based recipes, meal prepping, or reading the latest research on things like antioxidants (nerd alert). My free time is filled by working out & practicing yoga, reading & journaling, going to hear live music, and adventuring around Buffalo with family or friends.
Do we have anything else in common? Follow me on social media, join my email list, or send me a direct email – I’d love to hear from you!
What does a Holistic Nutritionist do?
According to the National Association of Nutrition Professionals,
“The philosophy of holistic nutrition is that one’s health is an expression of the complex interplay between the physical and chemical, mental and emotional, as well as spiritual and environmental aspects of one’s life and being. As such, professionals who are trained in holistic nutrition approach health and healing from a whole-person perspective. Using nutritional education as a primary tool, holistic nutrition professionals emphasize the building of health by approaching each person as a unique individual.”
